Welcome to Halle's Corner: Who We Are and the Montessori-Inspired Kids Furniture We Build
Share
Hi there, and welcome. We're really glad you found us.
If you're reading this, chances are you're a parent (or a grandparent, aunt, or caregiver) trying to make your home work a little better for the small people living in it. Maybe you're tired of lifting your toddler up to the counter every time they want to "help." Maybe you want a bookshelf they can pull their own books from, or a wardrobe low enough that they can pick out their own clothes. Or maybe you just want furniture that fits your kid instead of towering over them.
That's exactly why Halle's Corner exists.
How It All Started
We're a family business. Halle is our daughter, and she's the reason any of this began.
Like most toddlers, she wanted to be part of everything. Cooking, cleaning, reaching, exploring. She made that very clear by dragging a kitchen chair around the house to get to whatever she wanted to see, every single day. It didn't take long to realize she didn't need a chair built for grown-ups. She needed furniture built for her.
So we started building it ourselves.

Today, Halle's Corner is still just our family, working side by side in Northwest Arkansas:
- David (Halle's dad) runs the business side, so if you email us, he's probably the one writing back. He also handles shipping and has more than 10 years of woodworking behind him.
- Matt (Halle's uncle) designs every product, right down to our shipping boxes, and works on our marketing. Like David, he's been woodworking for more than 10 years, and the two of them build every piece together.
- Elysia (Halle's mom) takes the photos, runs the branding, and gives every design the real "mom test."
- Haley (Halle's aunt) has a degree in early childhood development and brings that background to our designs. She helped design our Climbing Arch and helps with our social media.
- Halle is our head of product testing. If something doesn't hold up to her at home, it doesn't go up for sale.
We design, build, and ship everything ourselves, right here in Arkansas. There's no outside factory and no middleman, which helps us keep our prices fair.
What "Montessori-Inspired" Means to Us
You'll see the words "Montessori-inspired" a lot on our site, so we want to be upfront about what we mean by them.
We aren't Montessori-trained educators, and we won't pretend to be. What drew us in was one simple, practical idea: when kids have furniture sized for them, they can do more on their own. A toddler who can reach their own clothes, climb up to the counter, or pick a book off a shelf they can actually see is building a little independence every day, without anyone having to teach it.
That's the part of the Montessori approach we design around. If you want to dig into the philosophy itself, Montessori educators can explain it far better than we can, and we'd rather point you their way than guess.
What We Build
Everything we make fits into a handful of categories. Here's a quick tour. We'll be writing a deeper post about each one soon.
Toddler Room Essentials
Front-facing bookshelves that let kids see the covers and choose their own bedtime story. A toddler wardrobe with an open design, sized for little hands and designed with stability in mind for everyday toddler use. A low floor bed, in toddler and twin sizes, that kids can climb in and out of on their own. Toddler-height benches and a toy shelf that keep shoes, books, and toys where kids can reach them, and keep the playroom from looking like the toy bin exploded.

Toddler Tower & Stools
Our learning tower has two platform heights, so it can grow with your child. Full back support adds stability while they stand at the counter "helping" you cook.
It was also the very first thing we ever built. We shared the whole story, all three versions of it, in Is a Learning Tower Worth It?

Balance & Play
This is the fun part. Our Climbing Arch, co-designed with Haley using her early childhood development background, flips over to become a rocker. Our Maze Balance Board has kids guide a marble through an engraved maze using nothing but balance. Both are made for moving, climbing, and the kind of play that doesn't need a screen or batteries.

Personalized Items
Several of our pieces can be personalized with your child's name, including our step stools, balance boards, Market Stand sign, and Tonie shelves. On the step stools and Tonie shelves, the name is engraved and painted in the color you choose. It's a small touch, but it makes a piece feel like it truly belongs to them, and it makes a great gift.

Market Stand
Our newest piece is made for pretend play that lasts. Set it up inside as a play market or store, then carry it outside for a lemonade stand or bake sale. It has a kid-height counter for serving customers, lower shelves for play food and supplies, and a sign on top that can be personalized with your child's name.

Toniebox Displays
And if your Tonies are scattered all over the house, we make wooden shelves and displays with magnetic dots that keep them in one place. Our Tonie storage guide has more ideas.
How We Build Everything
No matter the piece, a few things stay the same:
- Real materials. We use furniture-grade Baltic birch, round over and hand-sand every edge, and finish everything with a water-based top coat.
- Built for everyday use. Families use our furniture every day, not just for nursery photos. Our reviews (4.97 stars across 174 of them, if you're curious) come from parents putting these pieces to work.
- Tested at home first. Everything goes through Halle before it goes to you. If it doesn't hold up in our house, we don't sell it.
- Thoughtful packaging. Every order ships in a custom recyclable box that protects your piece without a lot of extra waste.
What's Next
Think of this post as our front door. Over the coming months, we'll be sharing deeper posts on each product line: how we designed it, how families use it, and tips for setting it up in your home. We'll link each one back here as it goes live, so this page can be your home base for everything Halle's Corner.
In the meantime, you can browse our full shop anytime. We'd love for you to take a look around.
Thanks for stopping by. From our family to yours,
